Test footage using the HV30 for my next short film called ” DEAD BODIES ” No special light setup, simple test in my living room. Filmed my self in front of the camera on a tripod, did some qucik temp color correction in Final Cut Express.

” Last Survivor ” short film from Alp Altiner

 Day#3 of testing and shooting with the camera . . this one is just a short experiment getting use to this camera. No DOF adapters, no Merlin, just the cam.
1)I drove around with my friend Matt looking for a place to shoot in Los Angeles downtown tonight
2)Parked the car and shot random stuff of him and the street for about 25 minutes. I set it to Cine mode. Also focused on areas to get some DOF
3)Captured the footage in Final Cut, stayed up all night and did the editing, color corrections and some levels/gamma adjustments. For the color correction I used a combination of (within Final Cut Express) Color correction and Color Balance, I added more reds and greens into the shadows, and mid tones. Also used levels to lift up the mid tones a tiny bit and crunch the black.
4)Added sound design using various keyboards, SFX, Sound Forge and Acid Pro
5)Back into Final Cut and I exported the final quciktime

Second day of having the Canon HV 30, and I’ve been reading the manual and going trough everything on this cam. I’ve captured, edited and color corrected the footage all using Final Cut Express. I am planning on buying a DOF Adapter and the Merlin soon. More to come . . . Thanks for viewing.
